Description

The new rigid silver mica is a stylish nail art decor that creates a bright shine and an expensive-looking metallic texture effect. Thanks to its dense and firmer shape, the mica pieces look more dimensional, reflect light beautifully, and are perfect for accent nail designs.

The silver shade gives a cool glossy shimmer effect that looks luxurious and pairs perfectly with nude as well as dark or vibrant base colors.

Mica is a decorative material for nail design in the form of thin, semi-transparent flakes of various shapes and sizes, with shimmer or a holographic effect.

Mica looks like small glass or crystal fragments that beautifully reflect light and create a sense of depth and a “glass-like” shine.

Key characteristics of mica:

  • Light and thin — does not weigh down the nail

  • Semi-transparent — adapts to any base color

  • Holographic or shimmering — reflects in various shades

  • Medium-fine / fine / large — depending on the particle size

How mica differs from glitter:

  • Mica has a flaky shape, not like sand

  • Looks more voluminous and luxurious

  • Creates a multidimensional shimmer rather than just sparkle

Mica application technique (step by step)

Classic method (into the base / on top)

  1. Perform standard nail preparation.

  2. Apply base coat and cure in the lamp.

  3. Apply gel polish of the desired color and cure completely.

Ways to apply mica:

On sticky base layer (classic method)

  1. Apply a thin layer of clear base.

  2. Cure in the lamp for 2 minutes.

  3. Place mica on the sticky layer:
    — partially in pieces for accent
    — or lightly sprinkle over the entire surface.

  4. Shake off excess mica.

  5. Cover with top coat and cure until fully dry.

On wet base

  1. Apply a thin layer of base without curing.

  2. Place or sprinkle mica selectively on the wet surface.

  3. Gently press elements to “sink” them slightly.

  4. Cure in the lamp.

  5. Cover with top coat.

On uncured top coat

  1. Apply a thin layer of top coat without curing.

  2. Place mica using your finger, silicone brush, or applicator.

  3. Gently press elements.

  4. Cure in the lamp.

  5. If needed, cover with an additional layer of top coat.

Finishing

  • Cover the design with 1–2 layers of top coat

  • Carefully seal the edges

  • Cure until fully dry

Tip:
For the smoothest surface with medium-fine mica, it is recommended to use two thin layers of top coat.
